Municipalities in Romania are benefiting from the Human Capital 2014-2020 Grants Programme

Communities in four Romanian municipalities are celebrating the news that support and intervention projects for Roma communities is on its way.

Sighisoara, Marasesti, Tarnaveni and Vulcan have recently been notified that they were successful in their bids under the European Social Fund’s Human Capital Grants.

Working with our ROMACT team, these municipalities have designed programmes that will assist Roma communities at the highest risk of social exclusion and poverty.  These ESF funded projects aim to address marginalisation and poverty through actions addressing education, housing, employment and health.

With grants between €3.1m - €49k, project activities will range from practical interventions concerning after-school programmes, improvements to housing and the production of identity documents to training in employability and entrepreneurship. The projects will also seek to bring communities together to tackle racism and discrimination and to address existing inequalities with regard to access to services; other benefits from the programmes have been the creation of strong cross-sectoral partnerships and the creation of one NGO.

The ROMACT team would like to congratulate these successful projects, we look forward to the programme activities and wish you all the greatest success.
