Dalgopol is located in Varna District. Agriculture is a structural branch of the local economy. It is present in all settlements of the municipality and has an important role for its overall development.

The unofficial number of Roma inhabitants is around 4500.  They are mostly Horahane Roma and they mostly live in Dalgopol, Velichkovo and Tsonevo. 
 

The ROMACT Process

ROMACT Process started in April 2021 with the signature of the Letter of Agreement.

The Taskforce for Roma inclusion was created following Mayor's approval in November 2021. 

The Municipal Action Plan for Roma inclusion was adopted by the Local Council in January 2022.

The Municipality benefited from ROMACT expertise to apply for the following project :
The expertise provided by ROMACT for municipalities involves training and guidance on preparing project proposals and implementing inclusive policies aimed at improving the living conditions and social integration of vulnerable populations, including the Roma.

"Integration in Action" - Funded by COIDUEM Competition procedure for project proposals 33.21.

Trainings provided by ROMACT experts :

Data collection and preparation of the Community needs assessment;
Elaboration of analysis for the Municipal Plan on Roma Integration;

ROMACT Small Grants Scheme : 
 ROMACT offers small grants scheme to support the efforts of the municipalities and Community Action Groups to respond together to the needs of the most vulnerable and to multiply the good practices across ROMACT municipalities.
 
Under the scheme of small grants, the following project was supported by ROMACT between February 2022 - May 2022:
 
Arrangement of playground for children – Dalgopol Municipality
ROMACT supported the municipality with 4998 € for the cleaning of unregulated landfills formed in the neighbourhood over the years. The project covered the set-up of 6 new garbage containers and the instalment of a basketball court for the children. Around 30 volunteers participated in the cleaning which demonstrates the motivation of the residents to keep a clean environment through direct and active participation in project activities.
